WEST CUMBRIA DYSLEXIA ASSOCIATION: Open Meeting

The West Cumbria Dyslexia Association is here to help anyone who has problems associated with dyslexia;, that means about one in ten of the population.

On Tuesday, 6th July, at the United Reformed Church in the Market Place, at 7pm, we are having a meeting to answer your questions.  The people who will be talking and listening are either dyslexic themselves or have children who are dyslexic.  One or two have taught children who have needed learning support, but mostly they are people who have struggled to get the right kind of support for their children or themselves.  The chair of our association knows what it is like to go through the school system without either diagnosis or help, and she is passionate about helping people to get the help they need.

So if you have wondered if you or your child might be dyslexic, come along on Tuesday, 6th July, and ask questions.  If you don’t know much about it, but would like to know more, now’s your chance.  If you would appreciate knowing what might indicate someone is dyslexic, or hear about the help available, come along on 6th July.

There are still people who treat dyslexics as though they are “thick”, but let me tell you it’s not true.  Consider the following:
Richard Branson, Jackie Stewart, Einstein --- all dyslexic, but “thick”?  I don’t think so!

We have all learned by personal experience, and offer that help to you.
