People of the WCDA

The Membership is drawn from a range of West Cumbrian people who are either themselves dyslexic or have family members who are affected. There are also representatives of organsisations with whom the WCDA works closely.

From the membership, a management committee is elected annually.

She works at Connexions Cumbria as a Personal Advisor.

Secretary: Beth Dell is the mother of two dyslexic sons. Beth is the longest serving member of our committee. She has completed the befriending training which enables her to assist parents on the best way to get help for a dyslexic child in school.

Treasurer: Anne Mackenzie has a dyslexic son who was at Sheffield Hallam University where he had support for his dyslexia. Anne is a retired teacher, and is also trained as a befriender.
